Tech Crunch first reported Facebook’s use of a survey to get user opinions on their news feed feature. They seem to be somewhat unclear as to how they feel the news feed should work. We mentioned about a month ago, Facebook users now have the ability to designate privacy levels per post. Early last year, they were doing a default live feed, and in October they switched to an algorithm based feed to try to determine what each user wanted to see. Now they are taking a step back and asking users what they’d prefer. I’m glad to see some hard “market research” because there is no better source for feedback than your day-to-day user.
